ASSOCIATE PASTOR
LATOYA SMYTHE-FORBES
Pastor Latoya Smythe-Forbes is a graduate of Northern Caribbean University (NCU), where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and a Minor in Youth Ministry. Upon graduation in 1998 she went on to serve as a missionary for the General Conference of Seventh - day Adventist in South Korea.
In 2004 she became the chaplain of Victor Dixon High School. As a chaplain, she taught Religious Education classes-grades 9-12. In May 2011, Pastor Smythe-Forbes completed a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies with a concentration in Church Development, at Oakwood University. During such time, she served faithfully as the Pastor of Administration at Madison Mission Seventh Day Adventist Church. Pastor Smythe-Forbes from 2016-2022, served as the as associate pastor and later as senior pastor in the Asia District of Churches in South Manchester. The district comprises six churches and Campbell’s Castle Preparatory School. In 2022 She was asked to serve as Women, Children and Adolescence director for Central Jamaica conference, a position held briefly before transitioning to the United States. She currently serves as one of the associate pastors.
Pastor Smythe-Forbes believes that God has given her a vision to create a church model that employs creative revolutionary methods for church growth. She is excited to announce the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She is confident that God will bring to fruition His driven purposes.
She is married to Egerton Forbes and together they have five children, Jaden, Azriel, Talia and twin boys Jamario and Lamario.
